The Kankakee County Sheriff Police MIS Department provides information and technical services for all Sheriff's Police Department offices, employees and KanComm Dispatch Center.
The Kankakee County Sheriff's Police Department utilizes modern law enforcement technologies such as LIVESCAN - digitalized fingerprint submissions to the Illinois State Police, digitalized inmate photographs, mobile field reporting, digitalized inmate fingerprint verification system, computer aided dispatch (CAD) with an emergency 9-1-1 interface, records management (RMS) and corrections management software (JMS).

We are also pleased to provide services to the police agencies in Kankakee County who are using the county-wide Law Enforcement Software System.
The multi-jurisdictional system is designed to provide agencies with data sharing of persons who have been entered into the system so that criminal activities in our community can be better tracked by law enforcement officers.
For example a person booked into the Jerome Combs Detention Center will have to submit his or her name, DOB and other pertinent information into the system. A photograph of the inmate is also taken at the time of booking. This information is immediately available to all agencies using the system. The information submitted by the inmate at the time of booking at the jail facility can be used later to determine his or her identity if they recommit a crime.
Agencies currently utilizing the multi-jurisdictional software system include
