The Investigations Division specializes in the investigation of crimes against persons and property. Detectives receive specialized training in the investigation of criminal acts, crime scene processing, and interview and interrogation. Crimes that are investigated by this division include murder, rape, child abuse and burglary. The Investigations Division is also responsible for areas such as:

  • Apprehension of Wanted Criminals
  • Evidence Procedures/Processing
  • Stolen Auto Task Force
  • KAMEG Assignments

The Kankakee County Sheriff's Police is responsible for apprehention and detention of wanted criminals. If you are aware of the location of any person who may be wanted by the courts, please contact KanComm Dispatch at 815-933-3324 or you may speak with the warrant clerk directly 815-802-7150, during business hours.
